Your mattress has been designed to last many years. This guide will provide you with useful advice on its use and maintenance to even further enhance your satisfaction. The product you have bought has been subject to strict controls that guarantee the quality of the components and manufacturing processes. Furthermore, the choice of materials and the production cycle are carried out with full respect for the environment.
Advice for better sleep
To improve the quality of your sleep, we recommend you:
– avoid keeping pets in your bedroom and particularly on your bed.
– avoid smoking in the room where your mattress is situated.
– use bed linen that is in good condition and made using breathable fibres.
– use only breathable bed frame and mattress protectors or the ones that nonetheless guarantee airflow to the mattress.
– Once every 15 days, turn the mattress from head to toe without overturning it, to promote mattress settling (in the categories where it is expressly required).
– Turn over your mattress once every 15 days, to avoid moisture build-up (in the categories where it is expressly required).
– Ensure your bedroom is well aired (even in winter) and preferably leave your bed uncovered for a few hours.
– For healthy sleep, the optimum temperature of the bedroom is approximately 18°.
– Clean the surface of your mattress regularly using the vacuum cleaner.
Your mattress should be supported only by slatted frames or rigid, aired bed bases of the same size or no smaller than that of the mattress. An unsuitable support may seriously compromise the structure of the mattress.
Size and settling
To guarantee its perfect state of hygiene and conservation, your mattress comes in a special packaging that may compress it slightly; it may require some time to return to its original size.
The tolerance for the mattress measurements in width and length are +/- 2 cm (tolerances compliant with UNI 10707 standard and subsequent modifications; measurements compliant with UNI EN 1334 standard).
Furthermore, the guarantee does not cover any loss in thickness of the used surfaces equal to less than approximately 20 mm, insofar as such values are considered natural for the settling of the padding when subject to the weight of the human body (+/- 5% of height, tolerances compliant with UNI 10707 standard and subsequent modifications; measurements compliant with UNI EN 1334 standard).
During use, the padding of your mattress will settle to better adapt to your shape, so that after some time, your mattress may seem to have changed.
No cause for worry, it is merely a sign that your mattress has adapted to your body.
A new mattress always requires a settling period.
It is normal for you to take a few weeks or more to get used to your new mattress, especially if accustomed to a different system of sleep.
Thanks to their internal structure, only some mattresses may be bent, being specifically designed for reclinable frames.
Allergies
Allergies are more and more common and the causes can be many.
The most common forms of allergy are those to house dust and mites. To limit these risks, follow the advice listed in the paragraph “Advice for better sleep”.
In the event of persistent allergies, we recommend you visit a doctor and possibly replace your mattress more frequently.
Pilling
Bed linen or nightwear containing synthetic fibres may cause “pilling” (formation of little balls) on mattress covers. Depending on the person and the environment, electrostatic charges may occur that cause the padding to pass through the covers. Pilling is not covered by the guarantee.
Cleaning
Mattress covers that come with a zip for removal can be washed if so indicated on the label. The washable versions must take account of the following recommendations:
– Temperature and washing method: as indicated on the label.
– Ironing: not recommended.
– Wringing: by hand or machine spun at no more than 800 revolutions.
– Bleaching: Do not bleach.
– Drying: Do not tumble dry; dry naturally only
For correct washing of the cover, please check the instructions on the mattress label.
Incorrect dry or wet cleaning is not covered by the guarantee . The mattress cover should be cleaned every 1-2 years for hygiene reasons.
Keep latex or polyurethane foam mattresses out of direct sunlight. A soft brush is ideal for regular cleaning.
Moisture dispersion
During sleep, our bodies release a certain amount of moisture through perspiration. Your mattress does not generate any moisture itself, apart from cases of an excessively damp environment, which, if serious, may cause mildew to form on the cover of your mattress. This mildew may cause considerable damage to your mattress such as to render it unsuitable for use. You are therefore advised to closely follow the rules in the paragraph “Advice for better sleep” and are” referred to the descriptions of the various mattress categories in the paragraphs below.
Mattress maintenance and care:
For proper maintenance of your mattress, carefully follow the recommendations listed in the pages to follow, based on the category to which the model you have purchased belongs.
Look after your mattress and your mattress will look after you for many years. The mattresses contain thick padding, which is often “highly elastic” to guarantee maximum comfort. By turning your mattress regularly (based on the material, where expressly indicated) you will help the padding to settle and contribute towards guaranteeing the even wear of the mattress itself.
Spring mattress line (CATEGORY M)
The “Bonnell” spring system is marked by the optimum comfort it offers. Each conical spring is made from a tempered steel wire which makes the coil elastic and non-deformable. The coils are then assembled with a spiral which ensures a perfect bond, at the same time optimising the collective performance of the coils.
Turn the spring mattress anticlockwise and over every 15 days. This is particularly important for the first 3 months after purchasing your mattress, so that the padding and inner material settle, to ensure you optimum sleep.
Pocket spring mattress line (CATEGORY M)
The mattresses come with numerous springs, each one inside an encasement, and ranging from a minimum of approximately 300 up to 1,500 and more, depending on the quality of the mattress. Therefore, each spring has its own independent movement range to perfectly adapt to each single part of your body. The support is divided into 7 different comfort zones according to the hardness of the various steel diameters.
In this special type of spring system, each independent-action encased coil is separated by layers of CFC-free waterfoam to guarantee even more adaptable and anatomical support as well as maximum general comfort.
The spring system is reinforced with a perimeter support (System Box) in Waterfoam, to enhance the performance of each pocket spring.

Waterfoam mattress line (CATEGORY G)
Polyurethane is a material deriving from the family of flexible polyurethanes, invented over 60 years ago. Polyurethane foam (Waterfoam) is obtained from the combination of two components which are initially in a liquid state. Thanks to modern technology, eco-friendly polyurethane foams have been invented, in which the expanding agent is water. Polyurethane foam mattresses offer a custom-made density expressed in kg/m3. The higher the value, the better the mattress can support heavy weights by evenly distributing the pressure exerted by the various body parts. Another important feature of polyurethane foam is its exceptional non-deformability, linked to its high level of elasticity and compression. It is also free from substances that are harmful to the environment and man (free from C.F.Cs and chlorinated solvents), and is anti-allergy, durable and ergonomic.

Memory viscoelastic mattress line (Visco Mind®) (CATEGORY GM*)
Visco Mind® is a new type of polyurethane foam with special properties that are completely different from conventional foams. This product was originally developed by laboratories in response to specific needs in the aviation industry, and was subsequently used for high technology serial production. This high density, slow memory viscoelastic foam is produced with a “shaping” process and is ideal as a seat and mattress support thanks to its moulding effect. One of its main characteristics is a near zero resilience value, which enables the foam to take the shape of the body it supports, returning then to its original shape (slow memory, from which the word “Mind” derives). It is therefore easy to see how this product, applied to mattresses, can offer incomparable comfort, since each part of the body is supported according to the weight and pressure exerted, and does not lead to unnatural postures that force muscles to contract to support the neck as well as upper and lower back. Its particular responsiveness means that the mattress is extremely comfortable, with a stabilising effect on the seated body, and the return, slow yet guaranteed, allows the ticking to maintain its initial shape over time. This product of advanced technology is made with maximum respect for the environment, and it is expanded using just water. The slow return means the mattress moulds itself around the body, creating a beneficial and pleasant state of physical wellbeing. Ergonomic, breathable, hygienic and long lasting are just some of the qualities of this extraordinary material.

Latex mattress line (CATEGORY L)
Latex foam and 100% natural latex require special care. Latex is extracted from a plant or tree by way of an incision in the bark and the collection of the milky substance that pours out. Latex foam derives from the vulcanisation of the “latex milk”. The Ministry for Productive Activities issued a memorandum dated 7 December 2001, no. 684, which indicated the correct use of the term “latex” in mattresses:
a) Latex foam: obtained by the coagulation or vulcanisation of an emulsion of synthetic and/or natural latex, mixed with air.
b) All-latex mattress or 100% latex mattress: indicates mattresses that have a strictly latex core of at least 10 centimetres thick. If the core includes at least 85% of natural latex, “origine naturale” is the only additional indication allowed.
c) Latex mattress: indicates mattresses whose core, when made of two or more different superimposed materials, follows the two criteria following here: minimum latex height, 10 centimetres; the latex height represents at least 60% of the core height.
What’s more, the latex used for mattress interiors is – according to many studies – capable of solving some increasingly common allergy problems. Recent studies show that products in latex are three times more resistant to mite infestation than other commonly used materials, and that this material does not foster the development and reproduction of bacteria. Latex can mould itself closely to any position of the body, so that shoulders and hips sink down more than other parts of the body, which instead are supported with clear advantages from an orthopaedic point of view.
Turn the spring mattress anti clockwise and over every 15 days. Let the mattress air for approximately one hour at least once a week to avoid the build-up of moisture.

Latex and Waterfoam mattress line (CATEGORY GL*)
* IMPORTANT: In this case, the layer of latex is joined to a base or a central part in Waterfoam (flexible polyurethane) of different heights to provide maximum support to the structure. To use the mattress correctly, you should sleep on the latex side, marked by a label on the mattress. We will not be held responsible for damage caused by incorrect use of the mattress.

Do not turn the mattress over, unless you particularly wish to change the material you sleep on. Check the materials by carefully reading the product label on the mattress.
Mattresses on special offer (CLASS P)
At certain times of year, some models in the various mattress categories (M,G,GM,L,GL) are put on special offer.For these mattresses, a separate class is created with guarantee terms that differ from those of the categories to which the mattresses belong (but to which use and maintenance standards nonetheless apply).
Legal guarantee
This document is to be taken as a legal guarantee, as regulated by the Legislative Decree 2 February 2002 no.24 with the implementation of the EU Directive 1999/44, and complies with that pursuant to art. 1519 septies of the Italian civil code. The guarantee herewith expressly acknowledges consumer rights pursuant to regulations regarding the sale of consumer goods. The consumer may therefore exercise those rights before the vendor, in accordance with the terms and conditions provided for by the abovementioned legislation and by the legal guarantee herewith.The product is guaranteed for a period of TWO YEARS from the date of purchase In any case, to avail of the guarantee, the interested party must report the non-conformity to the vendor in writing within the term of two months of its discovery, on penalty of cancellation. This guarantee is not valid in all cases of improper use of the product.In particular, the guarantee does not cover any depressions in the used surface of less than 20 mm, insofar as such values are considered natural due to the settling of the padding when subject to the weight of the human body (tolerances and measurements compliant with the standards UNI EN 10707 and UNI EN 1334). Furthermore, for the guarantee to be valid, the label bearing the barcode, size and article, sewn onto the mattress, must be left in place. This guarantee does not cover non-conformities due to negligence or careless use – such as failure to observe the use and maintenance instructions indicated in this booklet – or damage caused by transport, in other words to circumstances that cannot be attributable to manufacturing and/or conformity defects of the product. Should a non-conformity be reported, the company reserves the right to have the existence and the nature of the defect checked by its representative; should the defect fail to be confirmed or attributed to manufacturing and/or conformity defects, the consumer shall bear the cost of the fixed minimum charge valid for that date. The territorial limit of this guarantee is the territory of the Italian Republic.
Extension of the guarantee:
As highlighted in the previous paragraph, legislation provides that the guarantee for purchased goods is valid for two years.. However, to offer a better service to our customers, we have extended that guarantee, by dividing the various models of the different categories into 4 classes of different guarantee length..
CLASS A: 12-YEAR GUARANTEE
CLASS B: 6-YEAR GUARANTEE
CLASS C: 2-YEAR GUARANTEE
CLASS P: The duration of the guarantee is indicated together with the category
(M,G,GM,L,GL) directly on the product label sewn onto the mattress.
To check the class of your mattress, see the code marked on the product label on the mattress.
Should the class not be marked on the label, the legal guarantee of two years is valid.
Mattress repairs NOT COVERED BY THE GUARANTEE::
If the repair is not covered by the guarantee (according to that contained in this booklet), the manufacturing company may nonetheless arrange, upon the request of the customer and acceptance of the estimated cost, for the condition of the mattress to be restored, depending on the defects found caused by improper use.
Transport costs for delivery of the mattress to the company and to the customer, whether in the case of replacement covered by guarantee or repairs not covered by guarantee, are always at the customer’s expense.
